The 2020 Chromatic Weekend programme will have something for chromatic harmonica players of all abilities and tastes. There are several workshops aimed at beginners and, of course, many for more advanced players. Confirmed workshop facilitators include Will Pound, Tony Jukes, Chris Collis, John Cook and more.
Thank you for your patience!! This is a downloadable version of the the 2020 Workshop schedule that you can find below.
As usual, music and backing tracks will be provided in advance for a range of abilities. This year we are concentaring on 20 "core tunes", which will be distributed electronically in March 2020 to give ample time for practice before the event itself. Please state at the time of booking if you don't have access to email.
Registration and coffee is at 9.00am on Saturday and this is followed by the welcome meeting at 9.30am. Room check-in is from 2.00pm but there is secure storage for luggage. The weekend ends on Sunday, following a debrief and refreshments, at around 4.00pm.
There are four workshop sessions on Saturday, each of 1¼ hour duration, interspersed with refreshment breaks and lunch. The optional Saturday evening meal is at 6.00pm in the restaurant. There are two further 1¼ hour duration workshop sessions on Sunday morning.
A highlight of the weekend is the Saturday evening tutor's concert. During the first part of the evening there is also an opportunity for some pre-arranged group and individual performances supported by the band.
On Sunday afternoon there is an informal concert in which all delegates are encouraged to play in a supportive environment. Time constraints mean that each performance is limited to around 4 minutes.
Following the success of previous year's auctions, we will be inviting companies to contribute harmonica-related items to raise funds to support the event. You are welcome to contribute items to the charity auction.
