Sebastian James Thuemmel, a HarmonicaUK member and computer engineering student, has written a new free and open-source app for transposing diatonic harmonica tabs. It's available as both a downloadable version (Windows/Mac/Linux) and a Web app.
The features of this app include:
- transposing tabs to and from any position (and octave)
- converting tabs to and from various tunings
- listing all positions a tab is playable in without overblows (or bends) and conveniently transposing to them in one click
- playing the tab as audio (only the downloaded version)
- a virtual keyboard in the layout of a harmonica for easier tab input
Harmonica Tab Transposer is available for download here (downloads at the bottom)
If you have any questions, feedback or an idea for a feature that would be useful to you, please get in contact with Sebastian.
