Hi everyone, I'm standing in for Suzy for this month’s newsletter.
Firstly, thanks to all of you who have booked your place at our October Festival, we are pretty much sold out and it's going to be a fantastic event which we are all looking forward to welcoming you to.
I also need to announce that we are going to increase the membership fee by £5 across the board. Membership fees have not increased for nearly 20 years and unfortunately costs of web hosting, zoom and pretty much everything else have risen, and we have to make an increase to cover these costs.
If you pay by direct debit, you don't need to do anything and the adjusted cost will come out next time your membership is due. If you pay by cheque, PayPal or standing order, please consider changing over to the above method, you can do it through the website in your account settings and it can easily be set up in around five minutes. Otherwise, you will have to manually make the increases to your standing orders and other types of payment.
Now with the bad news out of the way, let's concentrate on what's happening this month...
Join us every Friday for our virtual coffee morning 11 AM UK time over zoom, hosted by Dave Hambley Join other harmonica lovers for chitchat about the instrument and much much more. Also, we have our Open Mic on Saturday 3rd of August at 5 PM UK time open to all levels, all instruments and all genres of music where you can play, or just listen in this friendly atmosphere. The above events are open to everyone, not just members and we welcome everyone who has an interest in harmonicas.
We also have another Saturday session workshop this month on Saturday, 10th August, led by Yvonnick Prene - "Practice within a key to help students master the chromatic harmonica", again at 5 PM UK time. This is a members only workshop and the zoom link will be available in the member section on the website a few days before the event.
