Roger Trobridge, HarmonicaUK's archivist made his own sort of history on the zoom friday coffee morning on 18th February 2022. He actually played harmonica!!! Roger who is very knowledgeable about the history and development of the harmonica and its music - but is famous for not playing the instrument, actually played a few notes. During a discussion about chord and bass harmonicas, Roger showed some examples from his harmonica collection including a chord harmonica that was over two feet long. When asked what they sounded like Roger broke the habit of a lifetime and played a few notes.

Roger correctly stated that he is probably the only member of HarmonicaUK to have never played a wrong note. He is currently rehearsing 4'33" by John Cage, he has only learned the first three and a half minutes and will give a performance of this 1952 classic when he is comfortable with the rest.

Roger went on to explain that he was involved in writing the introduction of The Handbook of chord and bass harmonica

THE HANDBOOK OF CHORD AND BASS HARMONICA by Gianandrea Pasquinelli – with contributions from Roger Trobridge, Steve Jennings, Pat Missin, Dror Adler, Al Smith and Brendan Power. If you are interested the book is published in English and details can be found here Bologna University Press
