What's happening at this year's Mundharmonika-Live festival in Klingenthal/Germany (Sept. 17-22, 2024)?

With seven harmonica workshops, the SEYDEL open factory day, a great short workshop program and the “culinary live night” with many international artists, the “Mundharmonika-Live” festival is one of the biggest blues and harmonica events in Germany and has been for 24 years!

This year there will be two great bands from South America: The “Xime Monzon Band” from Argentina will perform at the SEYDEL open Blues Harmonica Competition and at the opening jam session. At the same time, there will also be another evening for melody players, organized by Swiss chromatic player Noldi Tobler & friends.

The Brazilian Jefferson Conçalves and his “Bitencourt-Duo” will perform together with the “Xime & Mauro Duo” (Argentina). With the Italian Manlio Milazzi, we have another long-standing endorser at the festival. His trio will perform earthy blues of the highest quality.

Czech blues harmonica guru Charlie Slavik will be playing an updated program with his new bandmates and Kat Baloun (D/USA) will be coming from Berlin with her friends Jan Hirte & Chris Rannenberg.

Also taking part are Matze Stolpe and Denny Hertel (D), the “Dobre Rano Bluesband” (CZ), the “Horseless Riders” from the Erzgebirge (D), the Irish/Scottish folk band “Cobblestones” (Berlin) and the “Flatland Countryband” (D/USA) will be joined by Josa Sauerbrey (D) on harmonica.

Of course, the band “Jimmy Cornett & The Deadmen” from Hamburg, who will be turning night into day at the >Gambrinus, will not be missing this year either!

There will also be a shuttle bus service again, which will take guests to the venues on the live night according to a timetable. As always on each bus there are great musicians who will make the journey an extra concert - this year we were able to win Sasha Ploner (A), Roland Scull (D), Herbie Grezel(NL) and Markuz Walach (D) for this task! A supporting program on Saturday with a 'harmonica hike' and antique market on the Klingenthal market square, as well as a harmonica service followed by an open stage on Sunday round off the festival.

Visit us at the festival in Klingenthal/Germany and have a great time with plenty of harmonica music!
